Today's lecture was about online politics vs censorship vs democracy cyberpunks vs hackers...
More or less there are Cyber-politics who exist on the internet like gaurdians so we'll say Agent Smith. (hope I don't get censored!) Then we have e-politics and e-democracy who are just RL politics online, promoting themselves and so on.
Democracy is all about freedom of speech but these Cyber-Politics censor the internet.
Luckily there are fictional characters called Cyber Punks like Neo who are sticking it to the man.
The lecture also covered computer hackers who believe it is there birthright for free content and no censorship!
I've always wondered why the agent didn't aim the gun just down a little...
* Sign an e-petition.

* What is Barak Obama up to today?
I believe he is in the house of representatives and they just passed a bill for student aid...
* Find out who your local, state and federal representatives are.
Well local is Andrew Fraser (who I voted for), state would be Anna Bligh. So I guess federal is Kevin Rudd.
* Look up the Queensland or Australian hansard to find the last time your local member spoke in parliament.
* Let your local member know what you think about their last speech.
Well I read his speech but I couldn't find how to reply online. Though he does live literally about 500M from me. Don't think I'm gonna go knocking on his door though!
* Read the lecture and the readings, pursue a couple of the topics that you find most interesting and then post your blog with your well-considered thoughts about the theory and practice of politics.
I think the Democracy factor of the internet was interesting. As they want to bring in more censorship to the internet, and censorship has nothing to do with democracy. Though I think censorship is an important thing when it comes to internet.
Yes free speech should never be censored but there are so many messed up things on the internet that have nothing to do with freedom of thoughts and expressions. Obviously every has their own opinion on offensive... Most of the world is far to sensitive... But I guess censorship does have it's place. Though why don't you just not go onto website's with content that will offend you... Censor yourself!
Thank god for the cyberpunks sticking it to the man in over censored societies in future predicting films made in the 90's!
